Developing critical thinking among children and bibliotherapy in the library

Purpose. The paper aims to point out the possibilities of developing critical thinking in children by conducting bibliotherapy workshops library based on template a traditional children's story. work is course that authors run at Croatian Training Centre for Continuing Education Librarians encourage children, develop reading habits and create reader. It were an integral part international project TRACE. Approach/methodology. will present conducted as Erasmus+ Traditional stories common future – Workshops are shared with librarians through Librarians. We think their own opinions using different methods, most which modernized Socratic method. Results. Children often do not get express questioning attitudes. showed one how it possible use ethical themes stimulate teach them be active participants society. Practical use. Considering possibility /combining several methods "continuations", apply both school libraries departments public libraries. Originality value. points importance highlights value influence awareness personality shaping attitudes, contributing ability solve life's problems development system improvement interpersonal relationships.
